…if your home is burglarized.

On average, there is a home burglary every 10 seconds in the United States. If you've been burglarized, here are some tips to get you back where you belong.

First things first: Make sure your family is safe. Then call the police to begin a report.

If you arrive home to find signs of a burglary, leave the premises immediately. Your first impulse may be to stay and assess the damage but there's a good possibility that the intruder or intruders are still there. If you stay you risk turning bad luck into a tragedy. Leave at once and call the police from a neighbor's house and remain there until the police have searched your home.

Don't hide your keys in a secret place outside your home. Burglars always know where to look.

After you call the police, notify RJF Group at 832-623-7823. Make sure your representative knows where we can reach you. Then call Farmers HelpPoint service at 1-800-435-7764 to begin your claim.

Once police have determined that the intruders have left and have done some basic assessments you will be asked to join in the investigation. You will need to report which items were stolen and their estimated value. If you took photographs of your valuables beforehand that helps immensely. You will be able to avoid any problems and delays with insurance settlements as well as providing police with evidence.
